Predestined Orbital Position

When a satellite is launched into space, it goes through three stages, each involving “separation”.  During the first stage, powerful rockets propel the satellite into the sky. Once the fuel in these rockets has been used up, they break away, triggering another set of smaller, lighter rockets to ignite. In this second stage, these rockets push the satellite upward, breaking the Earth’s atmosphere into space.  After these rockets have completed their work, they too break away from the satellite.  The third stage takes place after the satellite has reached above Earth.  A metal shield called a “fairing”, which has protected the satellite throughout its journey, also detaches itself from the unit so that it is sent higher into space and into the desired orbital position.

What do we see here?  The purpose of the first set of rockets was to get the satellite into the sky. The purpose of the second set was to help the satellite break Earth’s atmosphere.  The purpose of the fairing was to protect the satellite during its travel.  When each component had served its expressed purpose, it was removed. Furthermore, we can deduce that there is no possible way the satellite could reach orbit with every piece still attached to it. The combined weight would have hindered its trajectory.  To go higher, it had to be lighter.

How does this apply to us?  As we move higher in God and in our Calling, certain people will be attached to us to aid in our trajectory. Each element of the satellite that was used to propel it was different according to the stage it was in. This is the same for us!  The individuals who assisted us in getting to the sky cannot push us to pierce the atmosphere. Those who helped us get above the Earth are not equipped to protect us as we travel. God will remove and replace the individuals in our lives according to the stage we are in. This does not always mean that they are completely cut off (though that will indeed be the case for some).  However, our interactions with them will change. We may not be as close to them as we once were.  We may not see or speak to them as often as we used to.  While this removing, replacing, repositioning and redefining of relationships can be painful – particularly if it is with people we once held close to our hearts – it is necessary.  Just like the satellite could not reach orbit with every piece it started off with still attached, we cannot move higher without some pieces of us falling away.

So, let me encourage you. If you suddenly find a shift taking place in your life, people falling off, relationships changing, don’t despair. God is priming you to obtain your predestined orbital position!

Until next time, be blessed!
